The Electoral Commission (EC) has announced an extension of the time for its declaration of the 2020 presidential elections.
The extension follows the pledge by the EC to declare the 2020 Presidential elections results at 5pm on Tuesday, December 8, exactly 24 hours after the close of polls on Monday, December 7, 2020.
The EC made the announcement via a press release issued a few hours to the 5pm deadline.
The EC however, did not disclose the new time it would be declaring the results.
Reasons for the extension of the time by the EC is currently unknown, but the unfinished collation of votes at some polling centres in the country among other happenings, could have accounted for the extension of the time.
