The Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA) has announced the operationalisation of its E-payment platform on the Authority’s mobile application.
In a press release signed by the Director-General of the GPHA, Michael Luguje and sighted by norvanreports, the now functional E-payment platform will allow for the payment of Terminal Handling Charges by importers and exporters.
Payment, per the release can be made through mobile money (MoMo), Visa and MasterCard.
According to Mr Luguje, the payment platform has been designed to “facilitate and speed up port clearance related transactions for clients especially during this era (Covid-19) when human interaction is better minimised.”
The introduction of the E-payment platform forms part of efforts by the GPHA to increase automation at the Ports and make cargo clearance faster, easy, secure and convenient.
