Power transmission company, the Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCo) has given reasons for the power outage witnessed in some parts of Accra on Saturday evening, April 3, 2021.
According to the power company, the power outage was due to the failure of a conductor on the Tema-Accra transmission line at Trasacco.
In a press statement issued moments after the power outage, GRIDCo noted its outfit was able to work around the clock to restore power to some parts of the Greater Accra Region at about 4am Sunday Morning.
Adding power supply to affected areas like Trasacco has not yet been fully restored.
“The maintenance team was able to work round the clock to restore power to the Mallam, Achimota and Accra Central Bulk Supply Points (BSPs) at about 4:00am on Sunday April 4, 2021.”
“Power supply has, however, been reduced to 50% in areas around Trasacco as the team works to permanently fix the fault,” said GRIDCo.
