Information reaching norvanreports, indicate that the Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) has cut water supply to the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR).
The cut in water supply to the nation’s refinery, is believed to be due to TOR’s indebtedness to GWCL.
The amount owed GWCL is reported to be around Ghs 6 million.
According to reports, the refinery is currently relying on its reservoir for its water needs. It is however unclear whether the stored water can last the refinery until water is finally restored to the refinery.
Water is a key component in the petroleum refinery process and its unavailability could pose serious challenges to TOR’s operations.
