Nigeria’s headline inflation rate rose to 17.33 per cent last month from a previous 16.47 per cent inflation rate recorded in January.
According to Nigeria’s National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), the recorded inflation rate for February is the highest in 4 years.
Food inflation in February rose to 21.79 per cent from the 20.57 per cent recorded in January 2021.
Core inflation which excludes volatile prices of food and energy products such as fuel stood at 12.38 per cent in February, up by 0.53 per cent when compared to the 11.85 per cent recorded in January 2021.
