Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Stanbic Bank Ghana, Alhassan Andani, is set to retire from his role as the bank’s CEO effective today, November 30, 2020.
His retirement was announced by the bank’s Head of Communications, Kojo Larbi in a media engagement on Monday morning, November 30.
Mr Andani’s exit as the CEO of Stanbic Bank, was earlier announced a month ago, he will be replaced by Kwamina Asomaning as the new CEO.
Mr Andani is credited with transforming Stanbic Bank Ghana into a Tier 1 bank and expanding the bank from 2 branches to 40 branches across the country.
During his 14-year-long stay at the South African Bank, Mr Andani championed a number of innovations and led key reforms at the bank.
With over 30 years spent in the banking industry, Mr Andani is a versatile banker with significant experience in Corporate and Investment Banking, Retail banking, and business leadership.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in agricultural economics from the University of Ghana and a master’s degree in banking and finance from Fin Africa Institute in Milan.
He was Deputy Managing Director of Barclays Bank Ghana before joining Stanbic Bank in 2006.
Mr Andani has over the years sat on the board of several organizations including Ghana Home Loans Company Ltd, Savana Agricultural Research Institute (SARI), JA International Group of Companies, Savannah Accelerated Development Authority (SADA), Rlg Communications (Ghana) Limited and TV Africa.
